Happy Birthday, t'DoL!!  
Today is the day!

Waaaay back in the beginning of June, I posted in LJ that I had finally figured out, in working out the avarii calendar, when t'DoL's birthday fell.

Whereupon, a few days later...

Me: Well, so what if nobody else cares when your birthday falls. I DO, and I am so going to have such a big bash over the whole affair. Just you see!

t'DoL: *is embarrassed*

Me: *is delighted, and plans to make it even bigger*

Well, today is the day. Bought his gift way back in August, and have been happily anticipating this for months.



I just had to get carried away for this one. Why not? It's the first year I've known the exact date rather than just the month, and I've got twelve years to make up for.

Those of you that have read Hope's Passage might 'get it.' Poor t'DoL, he's got to put up with my deformed sense of humor...

Yep, a wooden bowl.

Well, I thought of making him a cake too, though I really detest baking...but cakes have eggs in them. Oh well.

He can eat the bowl and the flower instead. ;)

That's a gorgeous bowl. ^-^ I love the grain of it. Provided that's the word I want. ^-^;;
He could make eggless pancakes from the flower. ^-~ And store them in the bowl. Much like a sandwich. ^-~

Yep, burlwood has the most wonderful grain. It has a sort of silken shimmer when it gets turned in the light.

This whole 'gift-hunting' thing was good for me--I've developed an aesthetic appreciation of finely-worked wooden bowls and vases I never had before.

Yes, cakes have eggs in. But our little fledgling would be perfectly happy snacking on that. *broad grin* Make him leave it alone, will you. It's too pretty to eat. Let him have the flower. ;)

I think he spent the day hiding under his bed or something--he certainly made himself scarce. ;)

I'm sure he'll like the basket! And the contents too, of course. ;)

Happy Belated Birthday Vrnyden. The bowl is very interesting - nice swirling patterns and a very unique shape and lid so I would recommend using it vs. eating it.

Hmm, good thing I held back 'cause I see it was my bad - Went back and saw that the post was one on the light saber color that I responded to so I did read - but sorry Vrnyden I forgot.

I recall now thinking well that's yonks away and then plum forgot. I must write birthdays down - talking of which I know there was one listing everyones and I am sure that Joelle you noted it so if you could either point me in that direction or supply I'll add them into my organizer now before I am late for the next one.

And that was Becca's birthday list back in August...where she listed all sorts of folks and conveniently left herself out--which I was quite happy to rectify. ;)

Saturday was horrid, but Sunday was pretty good. Wouldn't mind celebrating a few more days--if I could do it properly at home, of course. ;)
